The power of ultrasound

Ultrasound is a medical imaging technique that uses sound waves to produce real-time imaging of structures inside the body, helping identify the cause of symptoms.

Unlike X-rays or CT scans, ultrasound does not use radiation. It is quicker and more accessible than MRI, providing immediate insight during the examination.

// What to expect

During the scan, you'll be asked to lie down or sit comfortably while a small amount of water-based gel is applied to the skin. A handheld probe is then moved gently over the area being examined to capture real-time ultrasound imaging.

You may occasionally be asked to adjust your position or briefly hold your breath to improve image quality.

“I had ongoing shoulder pain after a fall and never had it properly assessed. The scan confirmed a partial rotator cuff tear and bursitis, which finally gave me clear answers. I was able to stop training and begin the right treatment with confidence. I had been waiting weeks through the NHS with no answers. Ultrascan gave me answers within one appointment — incredible service.”
